Mr C’s Fried Chicken & Waffles

Clean and friendly vibe upon entering, greeted with a welcoming hello, choose your seating. Currently only 2-TV's synched, would be nice to have multiple screens with sports or movies/news. Menu was could benefit If laminated (some printing was faded) however, menu was detailed and has an excellent selections to choose from. I settled on the Blacked Catfish bc it was grilled and came with 2-sides. Took some time to arrive 20-25 mins However the server was awesome! A friend's sandwich was not up to standard and the manager took care of it by ordering another one, free of charge! Outstanding, The way to make a customer happy! My blacked catfish was full of flavor, well seasoned and cooked; mashed potatoes were amazing along with the mac and cheese, I shall return and explore the menu, Highly Recommended If in the area and would like to thank Mr.C's staff and management for an awesome experience, A+

Great atmosphere upon walking in. There's an energetic vibe and the staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered the homestyle meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese along with the catfish and fried okra. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The meatloaf was tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes were seasoned perversely. The catfish was crunchy and flavorful. I can't wait to visit this place again.

We dined in for breakfast this morning at opening time. I will say I deducted 1 Star due to the buisness not being open on time at stated on their door at 8 am. We approached the door at 8:04 am and it was still locked. We stood there for a moment and no one came to open the door for us so we were going to go to another establishment that was actually open with the door open. Right as we were walking away a waitress came and said they were trying to find the key to unlock the door. Upon returning and I looked at the door and it didn't take a key so I wasn't impressed with that. Now on to the food the best part :) this was the 1st time ever trying Mr.C's and I was impressed. I had the chicken tenders and waffle. My hubby had 2 chicken thighs and waffle and grits. My dish was delicious. The waffles had a slightly sweet taste and the chicken was amazing. Seasoned to perfection and fried perfectly. It was juicy and not dry and not spicy or overly seasoned. My hubby enjoyed his dish as well. The plates have huge portions as well. We had 2 slices of cornbread and that was so good. It was slightly warm when served. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. The parking lot I could see would be tight if you park in front of the establishment but plenty of parking to the side and back.

A casual, clean and friendly spot with very well seasoned food. We tried a large variety off the menu. The chicken was absolutely delicious. Made to order, large pieces, crispy, juicy and so much flavor! We cleaned every piece until there was nothing left. Cabbage is a must try but you won't be disappointed in the greens, yams or Mac either. I don't like cornbread however, this was fluffy, moist and extra sweet. Portions are huge, especially on the meatloaf. Price is very reasonable for the Alamo ranch area. My only negative would be the waffles were spongy - more like a pancake. Needed to be on the iron a little longer. We had pecan and strawberry both worth the $1.00 upgrade. Expect a longer wait when ordering chicken because of cook time.

Another great experience at Mr C's! Wait staff took care of 4 adults and 1 toddler with a great sense of service and sprinkled with fun. Just realized tonight that not only is the food fantastic, but they have a full bar as well! The manager stopped by to see that we got all our food and that we were happy with both food and service. Husband started with fried gizzards, then blackened catfish and he loved them both. Our daughter had breakfast for dinner and those pancakes with banana and caramel sauce looked fabulous. Our other daughter and I stuck with the fantastic tender and juicy chicken! If you like cabbage, you will LOVE Mr C's cabbage; truly best in SA (maybe even TX)! Causal atmosphere so you feel right at home.
